# Valkyries Stun Dream 67–62 to Level WNBA Finals: Defense Turns Game 4 Into a Reset - Link: https://tectonicsmediapublications.com/valkyries-dream-67-62-wnba-finals-game-4-october-24-2026/ - Published: 2026-10-24T21:55:03+00:00 - Author: News Team **ATLANTA, October 24, 2026 — Final:** Golden State Valkyries 67, Atlanta Dream 62. The WNBA Finals are tied 2–2 after Golden State withstood Atlanta’s second-half comeback at State Farm Arena. Gabby Williams led the Valkyries with 17 points, while Rhyne Howard scored 19 for the Dream. ## How Golden State changed the series The most revealing number was not the final margin but the turnover gap. Golden State committed just nine turnovers against Atlanta’s 17 in the [official WNBA box score](https://www.wnba.com/game/gsv-vs-atl-1042600304), reversing the loose possessions that had undermined the Valkyries earlier in the series. The visitors built a 42–26 halftime lead, then held on as the Dream narrowed the gap in the closing stages. Williams supplied 17 points, with Tiffany Hayes adding 13. Kiah Stokes contributed 16 rebounds, helping Golden State compete on a night when its outside shooting was far from comfortable. Atlanta’s Howard scored 19, but Angel Reese was held to eight points. The decisive adjustment was collective: better ball security meant the Valkyries could set their defense rather than repeatedly retreat in transition. ## Why Game 5 now matters more Golden State had dropped Games 2 and 3 by double-digit margins. Game 4 was therefore more than a narrow road win: it showed that the team could slow Atlanta’s offense and survive when its own shooting stalled. The Dream still generated a second-half response, so this is not evidence that the matchup has been solved. The next contest will test whether Golden State can sustain that discipline and whether Atlanta can force a faster, less predictable game. The best-of-seven series resumes **Monday, October 26, at Chase Center in San Francisco**. Both teams need two more wins to claim the championship. ## Video and official match coverage [View the WNBA’s official Game 4 scorecard and available video coverage](https://www.wnba.com/game/gsv-vs-atl-1042600304).
