NFL teams have fully flipped the page toward Week 2, and the biggest name that’s bubbled up on injury watch is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.
<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-5730108346191534"

Purdy is “week to week” with his toe injury, according to 49ers general manager John Lynch, whose comments come on the heels of a report by NFL Media that Purdy could miss “two to five weeks.” The 49ers will also be without All-Pro tight end George Kittle, who went on injured reserve after hurting his hamstring last weekend.

Cleveland Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins, meanwhile, might make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Judkins was listed as a full participant in Thursday’s practice, a day after he met with the NFL in New York over the league’s personal conduct policy. The second-round pick out of Ohio State was arrested in Florida in July on charges of domestic battery, but the charges were dropped in late August. The Browns officially signed Judkins this past Saturday.

Kyle Shanahan says ‘it’s a long shot’ for QB Brock Purdy to play Sunday vs. Saints; Mac Jones in line to start

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that “it’s a long shot” for quarterback Brock Purdy to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday Purdy could miss between two and five weeks due to the injury.

That means Mac Jones, whom the 49ers signed to a two-year deal this past offseason, is in line to start.

Texans place TE Cade Stover on IR, promote TE Harrison Bryant to active roster

The Houston Texans placed second-year tight end Cade Stover on injured reserve Wednesday. To make up for his absence, they’re promoting sixth-year tight end Harrison Bryant from the practice squad to the active roster.

The Texans drafted Stover in the fourth round last year. He broke his right foot during a Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday.

Bryant, on the other hand, was a 2020 fourth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns. After spending four seasons with the Browns — and piling up 89 receptions, 791 receiving yards and 10 touchdown catches along the way — he played for the Las Vegas Raiders last season.

Micah Parsons questionable for TNF

Micah Parsons is one of several Packers players who is questionable for their Thursday night matchup with the Commanders. Nate Hobbs, Aaron Banks, Zayne Anderson and Zach Tom are the others.

Parsons, though, was limited all last week, too, and was considered questionable before he played in their season-opener.

NFL reviewing Tyreek Hill allegations

The NFL is looking into the allegations made against Dolphins star Tyreek Hill this week. His ex-wife accused him of multiple instances of domestic violence in a court filing on Tuesday.

Xavier Worthy will not practice Wednesday after shoulder injury

Kansas City Chiefs wideout Xavier Worthy got some good news Monday, but he’s not ready to return to practice just yet. Worthy will not take part in Wednesday’s practice after dislocating his shoulder during Friday’s game.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed the news, saying both Worthy and Jalen Royals will not take part in practice.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 10, 2025

On Monday, Reid said Worthy was considered “day-to-day” after injuring his shoulder in the Chiefs’ Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Worthy was injured during the team’s first offensive drive after running into tight end Travis Kelce on a route. Kelce took full responsibility for the collision.

There were some reported scenarios in which Worthy could miss the rest of the season due to the injury. Reid’s comments suggest that won’t be the case, though Worthy isn’t quite ready to get back out there just yet.
